Thepatellais a small, round bone found at the front of the knee.
Many people call thepatellathe kneecap.
Thepatellacovers the knee joint and protects it when you walk, run, or kneel.
Muscles and ligaments hold thepatellain place and help it move smoothly.
Everyone has twopatellae, one in each knee.
You can feel yourpatellaif you touch the middle of your knee.
