sternum 胸骨

Thesternumis a flat bone in the center of your chest.
It connects to the ribs and keeps them in place, forming the front of the rib cage.
Thesternumhelps protect the heart and lungs inside the chest.
You can feel your sternum by gently touching the middle of your chest.
This bone makes it possible for you to breathe deeply without your chest collapsing.
