TheAdam’s appleis a bump in the front of the neck.
It is made from a part of the larynx called the thyroid cartilage.
This bump is usually bigger in boys and men than in girls and women.
The Adam’s apple moves up and down when you swallow or talk.
It helps protect the vocal cords inside the larynx.
The size and shape of the Adam’s apple can change during teenage years.
